If you want to join us to take back VE, where we, the homeowners, actually get to vote on issues of what we want, or don't want, and how our money is spent, please email us with your thoughts and questions to veneighbors@gmail.com. The faster we grow the faster we can make VE the beautiful and carefree place we had before.

Carol Bruner says Charbit bribed local officials!

To Our Neighbors,

Once again, we are sorry for the continued "Chatter" by some in our community creating the disharmony. It does nothing to help us for a better tomorrow.

However, below is an email of serious consequences that could affect each owner in VE. Mr. Charbit's friend, supporter and previous colleague tells the whole story in this email; It needs no clarification of facts and deflection(s) by them should not be tolerated.

By their own admission, these individuals have possibly endangered the Valle Escondido community while then conducting themselves as leaders in our community. Is there criminal implications affecting all owners of Valle Escondido? We do not know. But, we should take these charges serious. We will get this to the proper authorities to insure the individual owners in our community are not liable for any of these potential charges should there ever be an investigation. We cannot take this matter lightly, given the state of Panama as it relates to public officials accepting bribes and the current news surrounding officials being sentenced to jail.

We have had enough of this groups devious actions. The deceptions should never be tolerated again by them in our community. To insure there is no deflection(s) this email breaks no confidentiality. It was passed along innocently over an unrelated, unresolved water issue in VE. The missed and deeper conversation in the email speak volumes in its content.

The recent, Poor Ole Me and my family as some kind of victims and "Ugly American" game of sympathy must come to an end. The entire community knows the truth!  Also, email them and ask them if you made their "Enemy List". Yes, that is correct, the prior SC created a formal "enemy list" of around 50 owners. They actually titled it "Enemy List" and was found on the VEHOA computer. Unbelievable! Anyone that even questioned their actions was an "enemy". Enough said!

The contents of this message requires no author, harassment or deflection due to its truth.  Do not let any party avoid its implications.

xxxxxxxxxxx,

xxxxxxxx,

I am so very sorry.  You know that the SC  authorized the funds to install the booster pump and that Analia and Thalia NEVER  responded to our requests for permission to install the pump.  Given the history, don't you think  they would have sued the VEHOA if the SC had initiated work involving THEIR  water distribution system?  Please remember that the water system has not been transferred to the VEHOA as required.

Now, Richard Charbit had Olga ask the SC members to "chip in" to his bribery fund.  She said he had already paid $1200 in bribes to officials and it was not time for us all to "chip in."   I, and others, were quite flabberghasted by that request.  Isn't bribery part of the reason Richard was convicted for stock market fraud?    Anyway,  we asked him to resign and while Jon may want to blame the booster pump lack on that,  the primary problem was that we could not obtain permission.  I offered my land for the booster pump.

And, while you are attacking the SC, let me point out it was the VE Neighbors' and Richard  Charbit's cohort, Julio Brown, who made it impossible for us to pay for the booster pump installation, if we had wanted to do it without authorization.   When Richard resigned, he not only threatened to sue Jeannie and me, he also said that he "will bring you down."    His ability to control Julio Brown's actions from behind the scenes is not obvious to some.  Yesterday the guards reported that Julio, Richard and Olga drove up to the guardhouse area, parked, Julio got out and walked some distance to the VEHOA office which he entered and then exited.  We are wondering what he was doing there and why.  We know that Olga gave him the password to the VEHOA computer minutes, urging him to get into the computer before we changed the password. That was immediately before she resigned.  We have her email to him.

It may now be the time to bring in IDAAN to study the problems with water and sewage.

How much more criticism do you want to throw at us, XXXXXXX?   It appears that you are still quite angry about how they dumped you.  I was not a part of that and don't want to be a recipient of your anger.  I don't think you fully appreciate how insidious the VE Neighbors are.  This morning I was called psychopathic along with everyone else by an anonymous letter writer.  It's not much fun.

Happy New Year,

Carol

Yes Carol, you are absolutely correct that bribery was part of the reason that Richard Charbit was convicted of stock fraud and was one of the reasons he was permanently deported from the US by Homeland Security. Thanks for confirming what I always thought was the reason he got the supreme court to hear his case. This will get very interesting and I am sure that a subpoena for you Ms. Bruner will be waiting when you arrive in Panama. Bribery and corruption is the hot topic in Panama right now. Ms. Bruner, I am sure that your statements of Mr. Charbit bribing officials will be thoroughly investigated.

Charbit bribing officials? Tell me it ain't so. Not that wonderful father and grandfather.

We should ask our invertebrate friend Arcuni to "follow the money."

And the Fair and Equal vehoa blog has already taken down Bruner's incriminating email message. Why?

Let the courts decide!!

In the US state of California, the act of making someone feel threatened is considered assault. It is criminal. I do not know about the Panamanian laws. I do not know if it is legal to film someone without their permission.

Jon Arcuni #67

Hey Arcuni, you may not know if filming is illegal, do you know if bribing is illegal?

I have read this post with utter dismay. As a single Women, resident of Valle Escondido. The depth's of lies and deceit never seem to end. I am amazed at the falsity and irreverence displayed by these people in our community. How is it that these people can continue to say they are leaders in this community in any capacity? Please, I need clarity, Now Carol Bruner the self appointed SC President is saying her friend She supports is Bribing government officials? Does anyone know who the intended target of these bribes are? Was it the developer, other residents in VE? Could it be me?, Could it be You?
How do we call for a complete government prosecutorial investigation? When will Bruner be back so maybe She can be deposed to answer these claims. This may be good for VE that She still demands to be President of the SC.

I certainly agree, the disgust of his wife implying we are "ugly Americans" is beyond hypocrisy.

This community has collectively endured enough from these shameful people. Thank you "Truth" site for posting this and for whoever sent me the email.

I remain in fear and anonymous: So I do not end up being demonized like so many others are! In my late 60's, I did not come here for this.

I read this blog to keep up on the absurdity in VE. These are very despicable events.
These are serious charges Bruner is lobbing at Charbit. What are we missing, I thought they were on the same team, trying to destroy the developer? Yes, No? These people seem to feed on each other when there is no one else for them to try and destroy when they disagree with each other. Quite pathetic isn't it.
I guess it happens when your small circle of friends gets smaller and smaller. Watch for the spin and deflection folks! They will blame someone else for this. Should we say, Olga? Julio or JB?

I am embarrassed to even be part of this community. You have to remain anonymous or you will be verbally assaulted and it looks like potentially much worse. Now we have the same lady and past appointed SC who caused these problems and accusations telling owners to not pay their dues.... Just fricck'n genius!

Way to go, insuring our community will look like hell telling owners to not pay their dues! These people are absolutely insane in my mind in an effort to safe their precious warped egos telling people to not pay their dues and let our community become a wasteland! People wake up and say NO MORE!

Anyone hear about Charbit's case with the Supreme Court on Panama TV last night? Our maid told us that some very well known TV personality named Juan Carlos Tapia was talking about it. We were discussing bribes and corruption in Panama and she recommended that someone get the email from Ms. Bruner translated and sent to this guy on TV so he can read it to the audience.

Community,

These people have ZERO shame. The community has just been introduced to a serious claim of bribery(s) by "their" President on their own friend and colleague and this group as listed sells out their friends and is more interested in "Getting To The Bottom of it" IE a private email and who sent it. Then the repercussions of its actions. This is a disgrace by these people! A real horrible, horrible disgrace! If they are innocent, they should be more interested in this as breaking the law and who was the target of the bribery and for what reason. Avoidance, deflection once again! That is the only issue of importance we should care about.....I hope they all get deposed/ investigated by the government ASAP. Bribery is very serious crime in Panama.
They sure jumped to distance themselves really qick.....HMMMMMM!

Here is their email to the owners of VE ( and they still want to be SC members? ) ..............

Dear Homeowners,
As you probably know, we are as shocked and saddened by the recent post by Caesar Sherrard to both the VEHOA.com and VENeighbors websites as you must be. Of course, we take such an accusation very seriously and will get to the bottom of it. None of the other Steering Committee members and advisors (Bell, Mains, Thompson, Traynor, Day) are aware of any such allegations of bribes or kickbacks taking place whatsoever.

We will get back with you as soon as more is learned.

Sincerely,

Steering Committee

My wife was just told that Charbit's original supreme court filing, requesting to stay in Panama, was submitted to Alejandro Moncada, the same Panamanian Supreme Court Justice who just plead guilty to corruption and was sentenced to five years. Can anyone verify this? If true, especially in light of Bruner's email, this gets very interesting. Hmmmmm. No wonder this is on the evening news.

Moncada Luna was separated and already under fire and investigation when the court case came about.......no involvement

Actually, Charbit's initial supreme court filing was with Moncada. I don't live in VE but I am following the Charbit case with great interest as this type of corruption negatively effects everyone living in Panama. I have a copy of the supreme court filing that clearly shows Charbit's application to Moncada but there is no way to post a picture here in the comments here. I will see if can find anyone to help me scan it and put it up on Boquete guide of Boquete ning. The local Boquete community needs to be aware of these serious allegations by Carol Bruner alleging that bribes had already been paid to officials.

I too think the outside community needs to know about the allegations but also that the VE members have voted out the past SC, some of who are under indictment for slander; and that the association members have taken back control of our association from these abject failures whose actions have so tarnished our beloved community. We are on the mend and the community at large needs to know!

Just recently I heard that Valle Escondido made the news again. No it wasn’t anything to do with the beauty of the Valley, or concerning Home values or even the VEHOA. It was all relative to the criminal we have living here. People complain about the web site causing plummeting home values and yet the most pathetic problem we have here in the Valle, Richard Charbit, is making national news as “the criminal living in VE”. You think that might cause others to not want to buy here? Who wants to live near a nationally known criminal that has been evicted from two countries? Now just wait until the latest exposure of him paying bribes here in Boquete hits the news and I assure you it will. We will get even more unwanted notoriety. One day he will be kicked out of the country for good and hopefully then peace can return to this beautiful valley. it certainly will not happen as long as he is here.

Yes, our driver and staff say this Charbit is well known among all the Panamanian workers in Boquete. It seems this man is clueless and out of touch with his reputation among us citizens who watch our nightly news. North Americans may not know, but all of us P's know full well who he is.he is on our nightly news after his 1st news press all the time..property values will continue to decline as long as these type of savory characters are blasting across our tellies. His own friends now sell him out on bribery. might be a good time to fold the tent in Panama. we like most of you foreigners. but a few we don't welcome. You have some strange trouble people in your community.

We were visiting with some Panamanian friends last night and they brought up the subject of Charbit. They had just recently heard the TV editorial on Charbit. They were astonished to learn that he had not yet been ran out of Panama. Their comment was he will be gone, this is a small country and some things take longer than others but he will be gone. They further commented on Charbit saying "Panamanians always try to see the good side of a person; to find the excuse for the bad. But sometimes there isn't a good side. There just isn't an excuse. It is apparent that this Charbit person has no good side".

I think my Panamanian friends nailed this one. There doesn't appear to be a good side.

Had lunch at Sugar and Spice today and was sitting with a local realtor. A couple came up to speak with the realtor and guess what came up in the conversation. Mind you nothing was said about Valle Escondido but rather it was all about Richard Charbit. I am certain these folks did not know what community he lived in, they only knew that some french criminal who was causing problems in Panama, was hiding out (their words) in Boquete. At least it was good to hear something about him and the low life that he is without VE being tied to the conversation. It served to confirm that once he is gone, this valley will return to the harmony we were just beginning to enjoy before he arrived.
